Aussie Garage recently had the pleasure of catching up with Tahlia, proud owner of an XB Ford Falcon John Goss Special Hardtop. Finished in the iconic emerald fire green, this Hardtop holds a special place in Tahlia’s heart. She has owned the car for the past 2-3 years, but her history with it goes much deeper, as it was originally purchased by her late father back in 2015 at the Hardtop Anniversary Special in Melbourne. Tahlia, then just 15 years old, has many cherished memories of her dad and the Falcon, making it much more than just a car—it’s a piece of family history.
Under the hood, Tahlia’s Hardtop boasts a powerful 351 Cleveland V8 that has been stroked to a 393, paired with an automatic gearbox and a sturdy 9-inch diff. The car sits on big Simmons wheels, adding to its aggressive stance, although all the original parts are safely stored at home for a potential restoration to factory specs if desired.
Tahlia is passionate about getting the Hardtop out and about, attending as many car shows as possible to showcase this classic beauty. She has plans for some upgrades to keep the car in prime condition, including a fresh coat of paint and tidying up the engine bay, along with a few other minor enhancements for presentation purposes.
Adding a unique touch to her car show display, Tahlia purchased one of the John Goss Special surfboards available from our Aussie Garage website, which perfectly complements her Hardtop.
This brief interview is just a teaser, as we’ll be catching up with Tahlia and her sister soon. Her sister also shares the family’s love for cars, owning a stunning blown XB Ford Falcon Hardtop in silver. We’ll dive deeper into their stories, the family’s car passion, and more details about their impressive vehicles.
Stay tuned for the full story and a closer look at these extraordinary Ford Hardtops. A big thank you to Tahlia for sharing her beautiful XB Falcon John Goss Special Hardtop with us—what a classic!
