Catching Up with Colyn and His Resto-Mod Chrysler CL 770 Charger

At Aussie Garage, we love nothing more than shining a light on passionate car enthusiasts and their pride and joy builds. On this episode, we caught up with Colyn to check out his stunning Chrysler CL 770 Charger — a resto-mod with a personal twist and a whole lot of character.

Colyn picked up the Charger back in 2006, and while the body remains much the same today, it’s still turning heads thanks to its striking yellow paint, courtesy of the previous owner. With only 30,000 miles on the body, it’s no surprise that it’s in such incredible condition.

Since then, Colyn has made the car his own, focusing on performance, comfort, and style — all without losing that classic Aussie muscle car charm. Inside, he’s swapped out the original front seats for modern bucket seats to help keep him planted during spirited driving, especially on track days. The wheels were custom made by Show Wheels in Sydney, giving the Charger a unique stance that blends classic and contemporary perfectly.

Under the bonnet, the Charger has gone through a few different 360 engine combos before Colyn settled on the current setup. What is it exactly? Well, you’ll have to watch the full video to find out — we won’t spoil that part here!

One of the standout traits we noticed during our chat with Colyn is that he’s a true tinkerer. When he couldn’t source a set of extractors, he didn’t just sit back and wait — he got together with a mate and made a set himself. That kind of hands-on creativity is what we love to see in the Aussie car scene.

The Charger also came with some extras from its previous life — like a drop tank and other subtle modifications — but Colyn’s touch is what makes it truly unique.

Our cruise was going great until a pesky electrical issue made a surprise appearance. As Colyn shared, it’s a gremlin he’s been chasing for a while now. He thought it was sorted, but as is often the case with older cars, it’s back to the drawing board. Still, the minor hiccup didn’t put a damper on the day.

We had an awesome time hanging out with Colyn — he’s a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Chargers, and his passion for getting his hands dirty is infectious.

Be sure to check out the full video for all the details — especially what’s hiding under the bonnet!
