A Premier WA Car Show for Enthusiasts

Organised by Stan and Rita in collaboration with the City of Perth, the Celebration of Motorsport and Tarmac West combined to deliver an action-packed event for motoring fans. Despite wet grounds from the winter rain, more than 25,000 people attended in 2025, proving the strength and passion of Western Australia’s car community.

Car enthusiasts were treated to an incredible display, with everything from blown burnout cars and rare collector classics to car clubs and performance machines. The event also featured dozens of business and automotive stalls, showcasing some of WA’s best aftermarket, detailing, and car culture brands. While the much-anticipated city cruise was unfortunately cancelled this year, the energy at Langley Park was electric, with thousands of people gathering to celebrate all things automotive.

Aussie Garage in the Heart of the Action

Aussie Garage set up right in the centre of Langley Park, surrounded by fellow passionate car builders, businesses, and motoring enthusiasts. We were joined by great company including Auto FX WA (@autofxwa), Bangin’ Headlights (@BanginHeadlights), and Bad Q Garage (@BadQGarage). The atmosphere was nothing short of amazing, with cars, conversations, and camera crews all capturing the unique flavour of WA’s motoring scene.

For Aussie Garage, it was more than just being part of a car show – it was about connecting with the community, filming incredible builds, and celebrating Australia’s rich car culture.

Among the highlights of the event was the thrilling Tarmac West time trial races. Spectators were treated to non-stop action as vehicles of all types sped through various courses, offering a mix of adrenaline and precision. The roar of engines and the excitement of the crowd made it a true spectacle, cementing Tarmac West’s status as a premier motorsport event in Western Australia.

Aussie Garage’s Presence: A Hub of Enthusiasm

Aussie Garage was proud to be a part of this incredible event, setting up an interactive stall that allowed us to connect with our followers and the public in a truly memorable way. We shared our passion for all things automotive, exchanging stories and showing off some of the finest cars on display. It was amazing to meet fellow car enthusiasts, discuss builds, and take in the electric atmosphere of the event.

The VF Holden Sandman Surfboard Raffle

A special highlight of the day for Aussie Garage was our raffle, which offered a unique prize – a VF Holden Sandman surfboard. This eye-catching surfboard drew plenty of attention, and as the day wore on, excitement built around who would be the lucky winner. That person turned out to be Michael Hancock, who walked away with the surfboard to the cheers and congratulations of everyone around. It was a moment of pure joy and community spirit.

The Tarmac West 2024 event was a triumph in every sense. From the buzzing racetrack action to the incredible collection of classic and high-performance vehicles, it was a true celebration of motorsport culture. This weekend, Langley Park in Perth City will come alive with the sights and sounds of the Tarmac West Celebration of Motorsport and Street Machines & Hot Rods event, a must-attend for motoring enthusiasts. The event promises a thrilling day showcasing classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods, and motorsport action. Whether you’re an entrant or a spectator, there’s plenty to look forward to.

For entrants, we’ve outlined the important details below to ensure your day runs smoothly.

Event Details for Entrants

• Date: Sunday, 15th September 2024
• Location: Langley Park, Perth City
• Entry Time: 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM
• Exit Time: After 3:00 PM

All entrants should have received a Celebration of Motorsport/Street Machines & Hot Rods dash pass via email. This is essential for gaining entry to the event and for parking purposes. Please print the dash pass and ensure it is visible on the dashboard of each vehicle in your display, including support vehicles. The City of Perth Rangers will issue fines for illegal parking, so it is vital that you comply by having the dash pass displayed at all times.

If you’re part of a club entry, kindly distribute a copy of the dash pass to all your members to avoid any inconvenience. In addition, ensure all details you have provided are accurate. If you did not receive the three necessary attachments in your email, please contact the event organizer as soon as possible.

The three attachments you should have received are:

1. Your dash pass.
2. Langley Park exhibitors map with Legend.
3. Tarmac West map, showing how to get to the event and trailer parking areas.

For those needing printing services, some local public libraries offer mobile printing services, and several are open on Saturday mornings. This can be a convenient option for those needing last-minute printing.

Perth City Cruise for Hot Rods & Street Machines

A special highlight of the day is the Perth City Cruise for Hot Rods and Street Machines, limited to 100 cars. All online registered entrants with a road-registered vehicle are eligible to participate in this exciting cruise.

• City Cruise Line-Up: A call will be made at 11:00 AM over the loudspeaker for all cruise participants to line up. The first 100 cars in line will be allowed to take part in the cruise.
• Route: The cruise will follow a designated route through the city, with Tarmac Marshalls positioned on street corners to direct the vehicles.
• Important Note: Drivers are cautioned not to spin their wheels or engage in any unsafe driving behaviors during the cruise. Police will be patrolling, and anyone caught breaking these rules will have their vehicle removed from the event, which could result in the entire cruise being canceled.

This is a rare opportunity to cruise through Perth City, so let’s make it an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone.
