Rescuing a Rusty 1968 Dodge Charger
Like many classic cars that have survived for over half a century, this 1968 Charger didn’t start out in perfect condition. When Sam first got the car, it needed significant work to bring it back to life.
The restoration involved extensive rust repairs and bodywork, with large sections of the car needing attention before the final paintwork could even begin. Anyone who has tackled a classic car restoration knows that the bodywork stage is often the biggest challenge — but also the most rewarding once the car starts to take shape again.
Over the course of 2.5 years, the Charger slowly transformed from a tired project into a sleek black street machine. The final result is a car that not only looks incredible but also stays true to the classic Mopar styling that made the 1968 Charger one of the most recognisable muscle cars ever built.
Fresh Black Paint and Classic Mopar Style
Once the bodywork was completed, the Charger received a deep black paint finish that perfectly suits the aggressive lines of the second-generation Charger body.
The black paint gives the car a tough, understated look while highlighting the Charger’s iconic design features:
