Bagged 1967 Chevrolet C10 – Rough, Low and Built to Be Driven
This bagged 1967 Chevrolet C10 proves a classic truck doesn’t need perfect paint to turn heads.
During the Aussie Garage Melbourne series, Phil caught up with Cory at Cleveland Spares to check out his tough, home-built Chevy C10. Built to be driven rather than hidden away, this truck combines classic V8 power, airbag suspension and plenty of clever custom touches.
350 Small-Block V8 Power
Under the bonnet is a 350 small-block Chevrolet V8, backed by a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and 12-bolt differential.
It’s a proven combination that suits the C10 perfectly, with Cory also planning some future engine and fuel-system upgrades.
Bagged and Built to Be Used
The C10 runs remote-controlled airbag suspension, allowing it to sit incredibly low at a car show before being raised for the road.
The chassis has been C-notched and mini-tubbed to provide the clearance needed for its low stance, while a set of American Racing wheels completes the look.
Despite sitting on the ground when parked, this isn’t just a show truck. Cory still uses it for family adventures, dirt bikes, kayaks and trips on rougher roads.
Pressure-Pack Patina Paint
One of the C10’s coolest features is its blue patina-style finish.
Rather than spending thousands on a show-quality respray, Cory painted the truck himself using pressure-pack spray cans.
The rough-and-ready finish gives the C10 plenty of character and means Cory can enjoy driving it without worrying about every scratch or stone chip.
Clever Home-Built Details
There are plenty of unique touches throughout the truck.
Cory added his own old-school signwriting, created handmade bead-rolled panels and even turned old Chevrolet rocker covers into door pockets.
It’s these small details that give the C10 its personality and make it a genuine home-built custom.
