Combustion Cars & Coffee Armadale
Aussie Garage headed to Combustion Cars & Coffee in Armadale, Western Australia, where we found a huge mix of classic cars, Australian muscle, hot rods and modified street machines.
There was something for just about everyone, with Holdens, Ford Falcons, Toranas, Chargers, Mustangs, panel vans, JDM classics and American muscle filling the event.
A Rare Holden Gemini Coupe
One car that really caught our attention was Brett’s Holden Gemini coupe.
Brett purchased the Gemini as an unfinished project that wasn’t running. It has since been brought back to life with an Isuzu engine and twin 40 sidedraft carburettors.
It’s also painted Ford green – which should get a reaction from a few Holden fans!
The colour really suits the car, though, and makes this rare little Gemini stand out from the crowd.
Plenty of Australian Muscle
There was no shortage of classic Australian cars either.
We spotted SLR 5000 Toranas, an HX LE, HQ GTS coupes, Ford Falcon coupes, wagons, panel vans and Chrysler Chargers.
There were also plenty of other interesting cars, including a Mazda RX-2, Pontiac GTO, Shelby Mustang, Holden Overlander ute, hot rods, Jaguars and European classics.
It was a great mix of cars from different eras and styles.
How Low Is Too Low?
Some of the most entertaining action happened at the entrance.
A few of the seriously low cars from the Distortion crew had a tough time getting into the event.
There was plenty of scraping, wheel lifting and careful driving as they tried to negotiate the entrance without leaving half the car behind!
