You might know him as the man behind one of the biggest wins for WA car enthusiasts — the C4C (Concessions for Classics) scheme. But now, Eddie’s back on the road with a new mission, this time teaming up with the Australian Street Machine Federation of WA (ASMFWA) to take on the next big challenge — putting power back into the hands of the engineers.
C4C – A Win for Classic Car Owners
Let’s rewind for a second. Not long ago, if you owned a classic or muscle car in Western Australia, your rego fees were the same as someone clocking up 30,000 kms a year in a daily driver. It made no sense. That’s when Eddie stepped up.
He kickstarted a petition that quickly gained traction — and thanks to the Australian Street Machine Association, he was given a prime spot at the Claremont Hot Rod Show to rally support. Car lovers turned out in force, and signatures rolled in. The result? The C4C scheme became a reality — offering reduced registration fees for classic cars that aren’t driven daily. It was a game-changer.
Rolling Forward: A New Petition for WA’s Engineering Future
Now that C4C and the Rolling 30 Concessions are locked in, Eddie’s next goal is even bigger — ensuring that engineers have the final say in vehicle modifications, not just the Department of Transport.
Under the current system, even if an accredited engineer signs off on a modification to a 4WD, bike, classic, or muscle car, the Department still has the authority to reject it. Eddie and the ASMFWA are working to change that.
Their petition — already halfway through its journey — aims to restore confidence in the engineering process and make it easier for enthusiasts and workshops to get custom vehicles on the road legally and safely.
Why This Matters
If this reform succeeds, it won’t just benefit car lovers — it’ll also breathe new life into the custom auto industry, making it easier for custom shops, engineers, and suppliers to operate within clear guidelines, without being tangled up in bureaucratic red tape.
