Ford XG Falcon Panel Van – From Police Paddy Wagon to Custom Cruiser
This stunning Ford XG Falcon panel van started life as a rusty white WA Police paddy wagon. Today, it’s a candy-orange custom cruiser packed with old-school style.
Built by Stewie in just 12 months, the XG features an XE Falcon front end, custom paint, S-Pack-inspired stripes, jellybean wheels and a modified 4.0-litre EFI straight-six producing more than 200 horsepower at the wheels.
But there’s also an important story behind this build.
From WA Police Van to Custom XG Falcon
When Stewie started with the XG, it was a long way from the finished van you see today.
The former WA Police paddy wagon was white and rusty, but Stewie could see its potential.
He fitted an XE Falcon front end before transforming the body with stunning candy-orange paint featuring prismatic flake.
Factory-style S-Pack stripes and 14-inch jellybean wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich tyres complete the old-school Falcon look.
Modified 4.0-Litre Ford Straight-Six
Under the bonnet is Ford’s familiar 4.0-litre EFI six-cylinder, but it’s far from standard.
The engine was completely rebuilt with XR8 injectors, an upgraded fuel system, ported head, larger valves and a performance cam.
The result is just over 200 horsepower at the wheels.
A limited-slip differential helps put the power down while keeping the XG a comfortable and enjoyable street cruiser.
Custom Details Throughout
There are plenty of clever touches across the van.
One of the standouts is the flush-fitting one-piece side glass, which gives the XG a much cleaner appearance.
Inside, Stewie has continued the custom treatment with a personalised interior and timber cargo floor, creating a great mix of practicality and classic panel van styling.
More Than Just a Car Build
The most important part of this XG Falcon story isn’t what’s under the bonnet.
Stewie built the van while recovering from prostate cancer, with the project becoming his form of shed therapy during a difficult period.
More than two years after surgery, Stewie remains clear.
He’s now encouraging other men not to ignore their health and to get checked.
It’s an important message and makes this already impressive Falcon even more special.
